To earn a CBAP designation, potential candidates have to:

- Complete a minimum of 7,500 hours of Business Analysis Work experience in the last 10 years.

- Within this BA experience of 7500 hours, a minimum of 900 hours of work experience should be completed in 4 of the 6 BABOK® (Business Analysis Body of Knowledge) Guide Knowledge Areas,

- Overall a potential candidate must have at least 3,600 hours of the required 7,500 hours of total work experience in 4 of the 6 BABOK® Guide Knowledge Areas.

- Complete a minimum of 35 hours of Professional Development in the last 4 years.

- Provide two references; accept the signed code of conduct with IIBA and its terms and conditions.

- Pass the CBAP exam.

What’s the format of the CBAP Exam?

The CBAP exam consists of 120 multiple choice questions and must be completed within three and a half hours. 

CBAP exam questions are formulated from the BABOK® (Business Analysis Body of Knowledge) Guide and are both scenario and case study-based.
