How to get PMP Certified Before the PMP Exam Changes on 1st July 2020
The Project Management Institute (PMI®) conducts a survey every 3-5 years in order to keep the project management certification updated. The changes are made according to the impact of emerging technologies, roles and responsibilities of project managers in different sectors.
In today’s evolving project management profession, the changes in the PMP exam will ensure up-to-date practices, knowledge and skills required for a successful project.
The current PMP exam course outline contains 5 main domains which are initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing. The new course outline of PMP exam from July 2020 will focus on 3 new domains based on predictive, agile and hybrid approaches.
- People – Skills and knowledge (42%)
- Process- Technical aspects of handling projects (50%)
- Business Environment- Strategical aspects between the project and the organization (8%)
Concepts like servant leadership, conflict resolution and retrospectives were previously the domain of the PMI-ACP® exam, but will now be featured more frequently on the PMP exam as well.
The new detailed framework of the content outline is based on predictive (approximately 50%), agile/hybrid e (approximately 50%) approaches.
The updated domains are aligned to real life practices.
